This last weekend we attended the Gillingham and Shaftesbury Agricultural Society Spring Show. It was very windy, so we couldn’t put out all our Hostas and had to hide behind our sign for much of the Saturday. Sunday was less windy and we managed to put more of our Hostas out and met lots of lovely people.
Well yesterday was our first Plant Fair, at the lovely Mapperton House, near Beaminster Dorset. We had a great time, and enjoyed meeting and talking to lots of lovely new people and existing customers. Thank you everyone for making it a lovely experience.

Thought I’d show some of the bright and cheerful hostas. They certainly brighten the place up at the moment.
Look at the difference between initially potting up these Hosta Teeny Weeny Bikinis and 3 days later after they have settled down.
Just finished potting up 500 Hostas and managed to fill up the walk in enclosure. A big relief and satisfaction.

Just received our initial order of a few thousand 1litre and 1.4litre pots ready for the start of the season. Looking forward to filling these next month.
Well we thought we’d got off lightly with the storms so far this year, Dudley, Eunice but Franklin caught us out as our Milverton site where most of our Hostas are grown is wooded. We have spent the last 3 years improving the general health of the trees, but Franklin came suddenly changed direction from Westerly and South Westerly to North Westerly and one of the big Oak trees that is in our Bi-Way boundary came down.
So a few nice gentleman and myself spent yesterday clearing a lot of wood yesterday. The life of keeping Hostas. No Hostas were harmed in this process.
