Well we have been a bit quiet for a while here, but there has been very busy behind the scenes. Storm Daragh caused quite a bit of work for us. Our main site with the Hostas got off relatively lightly. 4 trees came down and needed clearing but by comparison little work was needed. We did get one or two Hostas speared, but they were re-potted and are fine. Our other site at Clayhanger, which is more exposed got clobbered. Finally got back on top of things now.
In the interim we have been busy indoors sowing Hosta seeds sown, and several of the varieties have shown some interesting combinations. We sowed 52 varieties and have managed to get germination of 42, so very pleased. My favourites at the moment came from Amber Tiara x OP and Ivory Queen x OP. Only time will tell how well they will do.
We have got a lot of our events booked for the year. Which takes a bit of sorting, but looking forward to that, and we have our first talk starting in less than 2 weeks time. Busy times, but enjoyable!
